With brief for make and create a low tech machinery. And first thing come across my mind of machinery is a repatriation of process. Below is some idea I have sketch of the brief.

The one that I like most is the recycle process, where mixed recycle waste get to be separate by having a magnet to take off metal substance, then have it crush so the glass will be broken to pieces and have filter out from plastic waste.
By making it even low tech, I try out on the glass process, by breaking it to pieces and filter it to different sizes using kitchen drainer, paper tray (basically items with different size of net)
Then after the filter I try with blow torch to melt the glass and reform it.
It's quite nice, little crystal.
I was amaze with the glass translucent and shine.So I try to explore further by blow torch and melt the glass using microwave. Ideally in my mind I thought of mold something on the melting glass, but realize it's temperature change is so vast that I could not mold anything and eventually the glass cracks easily.
